Jake, I second that notion on the rear wiper motor. Its mounted on backside of glass and sometimes the pivot bushing it the glass gets frozen and wiper wont park. Also if back glass isn't fully shut the motor wont not stop never. We have a lot of Expeditions here. Seems like Expedition and Safari go hand in hand. If the Motor Age writer wont go on safari with you maybe he would go shark fishing up here with us? Maybe have to ask directions to Homer, AK?
administrator, please dont end general discussion, i get some great info between all the other stuff here, if you could be more specific as to what written is wrong we would be happy to comply. we like this forum and sometimes go beyond what is appropriate but we want to be goodI hate being the heavy here. I've been fully supportive of the general discussion ever since Jake started the first one 5 years ago. I think it's been a great medium for you techs to get to know each other and help each other with automotive and other issues. There are typically about 300 posts per month in it. The problem is that I don't have the time to read each and every post as they come along anymore. I'm now administrating two systems and I lost my assistant admin several years ago. Many times, coworkers, supervisors and techs in the field have had to point out troublesome activity that I've missed or haven't gotten to. This has not only caused me trouble at the office but worse than that great techs who used to participate have given up on it. I've asked, pleaded, and even begged certain people to tone it down or to not instigate more trouble. I get promises but they are soon forgotten. Not only that, when I have tried to push for expanding the community model into the new system, all they have to do is pull up the general discussion to point out the perils of doing it. And what can I say to defend it? Not much. You techs and I are professionals, while I don't think we have to be 100% serious all the time, we do have to act like adults and understand that not everyone gets your inside jokes or what you think is in good taste. There are plenty of other places where you can do whatever you want and get away with it. This cannot and will not be that place. I think it's time to take a break from it. Continued...
